Thanks to the great interest from the animal adoption community, NBC4 and Telemundo 52 are bringing back Clear the Shelters on Saturday, July 23, 2016!
We hope shelters and rescue organizations who were on-board with us will return, and those who were unable to participate will sign up this year.
Last year’s NBC4 and Telemundo 52 Clear the Shelters pet adoption event was a massive success with more than 2,500 animals finding homes in Southern California and nearly 20,000 animals nationwide. Our goal is to exceed the number of groups on board and surpass the number of animals adopted to unprecedented levels. Our journalists were out in force throughout the Southland covering many heartwarming unions between families and adoptees, and raising awareness about pet adoptions.
If you watch the NBC4 News at Noon, you know that Clear the Shelters isn’t just a one day campaign but a year-around effort with pet segments every Thursday encouraging adopting an animal from a local shelter.
For now, here’s what we ask:
- Please reply by Friday, March 18 to carol.soudah@nbcuni.com if you would like to join Clear the Shelters on July 23 (a few requirements apply) or want more information;
- Let us know who will be the main point person and provide name and contact info; and
- Forward this email to other shelters/pet adoption groups that may want to participate in LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
I’m excited about what lies ahead and look forward to working with you to clear the shelters!
